With turn by turn directions clipped to my brake cable I set out. I hadn’t even taken one hazard photo when I came to the place where the sidewalk ends:

Foiled again!

My bike route was something like a figure-eight, so I backed up and just ignored that part of the ride so it wasn’t a complete loss, but still very irritating. Something that did make up for it was passing the City of Tempe maintenance cart thing on the Mill Avenue bridge:

I passed him. There were witnesses.

So I guess it ended all good.
